Fund Fest Concert Series

FundFest is a summer concert series held on the grassy lot across the street from The Daily News Record off Liberty Street in Harrisonburg.  All proceeds benefit charities serving the local community. The series features a different local band and charity every week. Fund Fest is a great way to relax with friends, family and co-workers. As a side note, alcohol and food are available for purchase, but outside alcohol and food are not allowed. The donation fee of $2 required for entry goes directly to the nights charity partner.   As with any event, local sponsors are a big reason why the event is successful.  Fund Fest would like to recognize and thank all of our sponsors, including Rockingham/Harrisonburg SPCA, Virginia Eagle Distributing, WHSVDave’s TavernaComcastKrogerDomino’s and various others.

The 2011 band schedule was very popular and produced great attendance nightly.  All tolled, the event raised a total of $12,800 and the 8 charities involved benefited to the tune of $1,600 each.  Not bad for one night of volunteering!

The 2012 schedule of charities is as follows…..

May 16 – BRCC Educational Foundation

May 30 – Harrisonburg/Rockingham Free Clinic

June 13 – Elkton Family & Children’s Medical Center

June 27 – Hand-In-Hand Resource Mothers Program

July 10 – Healthy Families of the Blue Ridge

July 24 – Second Home

August 8 – Harrisonburg/Rockingham Child Day Care Ctr.

August 22 – Knights of Columbus

  1. Is this the performance list of 2011? The Worx made a comment that they would be performing the first show in July but they are not listed again?????
